Oxford Venture Angels

What does your organisation do?
Oxford Venture Angels is an angel investment group offering experienced investors access to early-stage, high-growth technology companies and spinouts from the Oxfordshire ecosystem. We aim to support early-stage founders with more than just capital and provide our members with access to world class deal flow. Our goal is to champion Oxfordshire as a whole, from Harwell to Bicester and everywhere in between.
Why did you choose to build in Oxfordshire?
Oxford Venture Angels is Oxford's answer to our sister organisation, Cambridge Angels, and addresses an unmet need in the Oxfordshire ecosystem for a motivated and knowledgeable Angel Syndicate to support early-stage founders with more than just capital. Our Co-Chairs Cici Muldoon and David Ford are both Oxford alumni.
What big problem are you trying to solve?
Our network addresses the critical shortage of early-stage "smart capital" and operational guidance required to transition world-class Oxfordshire research into sustainable, market-ready businesses. We ensures that breakthrough scientific and technical innovations don't stall in the lab, but instead reach the global stage to solve urgent healthcare, climate, and technology challenges.
How can you support the Oxfordshire ecosystem?
We can support the Oxfordshire ecosystem by providing mentorship, operational expertise, and "smart" funding beyond just cash. In turn, we rely on the Oxfordshire ecosystem for access to high quality deal flow and new investment opportunities for our members.
